Royal Bank Of Scotland PPI Case Study
Mr and Mrs D
Mr and Mrs D had taken out a loan with RBS in 2005 for £10000. They had been sold a PPI policy with the loan for £2500. The loan had been settled in 2010. Mr and Mrs D did not have the loan documents.
Scottish Claims were satisfied that the policy was not suitable for Mr and Mrs D, they both having been employed at the time of the loan and both receiving sickness and absence cover from their employers. We were also satisfied that RBS had not followed the FSA regulations they should have followed when selling the policy.
We obtained the loan agreement from RBS and issued a complaint on behalf of Mr and Mrs D. Following negotiation we recovered the full cost of the policy plus interest, the sum of £3012 for Mr and Mrs D.
